Accounts

Opening an account takes under 5 minutes. Click "Open Account" in the navigation, choose your account type, complete our secure identity verification, and fund your account. You'll receive confirmation by email immediately.

You will need a government-issued photo ID (passport or driver's licence), your Social Security Number (or equivalent), and a linked external bank account or debit card for the initial deposit. No minimum deposit is required for a Checking account.

Yes. You can hold multiple account types simultaneously — for example, a Checking account, a High-Yield Savings account, and an Investment account — all managed from a single login on our app or website.

You can request account closure through the app (Settings → Account → Close Account) or by contacting our support team. Accounts must have a zero balance before closure. Any remaining balance will be transferred to a linked external account.

Transfers & Payments

Transfers between WestFinanceBank accounts are instant, 24/7. ACH transfers to external US accounts settle in 1–2 business days. Domestic wire transfers sent before 3:00 PM ET arrive the same business day. International wires typically arrive within 1–3 business days depending on the destination country.

Default daily transfer limits are: $25,000 for ACH, $100,000 for domestic wire, and $50,000 for international wire. These limits can be increased upon request for verified customers. Transfers above certain thresholds may require additional verification.

Internal transfers can be cancelled immediately if the funds have not yet been applied. ACH transfers can typically be cancelled before the cut-off time on the processing day. Wire transfers cannot be cancelled once processed. Contact support immediately if you need to attempt a recall.

Security

Your deposits are FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per depositor, per ownership category. Additionally, WestFinanceBank maintains a Zero Fraud Liability guarantee — if you are ever the victim of fraud on your account, we cover 100% of the loss. Our platform is protected by 256-bit AES encryption, SOC 2 Type II certification, and continuous AI-powered fraud monitoring.

Immediately freeze your card in the app (Card → Freeze Card) and contact our security team via the app or by calling our 24/7 fraud hotline. We will investigate and, if fraud is confirmed, restore your funds within one business day under our Zero Fraud Liability guarantee.

Yes. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled by default on all accounts. You can choose between SMS codes, an authenticator app (TOTP), or biometric authentication (Face ID / fingerprint). We strongly recommend using an authenticator app for enhanced security.

Cards

Activate your card in the app (Cards → Activate Card) using the last 4 digits of your card number and your date of birth. Alternatively, making any in-store PIN transaction will activate the card automatically.

Yes. Your WestFinanceBank card is accepted in 190+ countries wherever Visa or Mastercard is accepted. We charge zero foreign transaction fees and apply the real mid-market exchange rate with no markup. Notify us before travelling via the app (Cards → Travel Notification) to prevent temporary holds.

Investments

WestFinanceBank customers can access: stocks and ETFs (commission-free), bonds and treasuries, managed portfolios (automated and advisor-managed), and retirement accounts (Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, SEP IRA). Investment accounts require a separate agreement and are not FDIC insured.

International Banking

WestFinanceBank currently offers full account access to US residents and citizens. Non-US residents in eligible countries can open Global Accounts with a subset of features. Global Account availability varies by country. Check the Learn page for the latest eligibility list.

We use the mid-market exchange rate (the midpoint between buy and sell rates on global currency markets) with zero markup. This is the same rate you see on Google or XE.com. Most banks add a 2–3% margin on top — we do not.

Fees

Our standard Checking account has no monthly maintenance fee. Our High-Yield Savings account also has no fee. Premium account tiers (WFB Gold and WFB Private) carry monthly fees disclosed at sign-up, offset by premium benefits including dedicated advisors, higher transfer limits, and priority support.

We do not charge traditional overdraft fees. If your account balance goes negative, we will notify you immediately and give you 24 hours to restore a positive balance. If your account has Overdraft Protection enabled and linked to a savings account, funds are transferred automatically at no charge.
